As difficult as it is to sum up a person in a few words, sometimes it has to be done. Especially if there's money to be made by doing it.

From James Gorman's profile of Bernd Heinrich, here's a graf that captured the essence of the whole profile:

"Dr. Heinrich, a biologist at the University of Vermont, like his knowledge firsthand. Are winter berries good to eat? Try them. How comfortable is a beaver lodge in winter? Crawl in and check it out. How many seeds can a chipmunk carry in its cheeks? Find one dead on the raod and start stuffing it with sunflower seeds. (The answer is at least 60 in each cheek.)"
