Maybe Wes Anderson's new movie, "The Life Aquatic", will do for oceanography what "The Day After Tomorrow" did for climate research.

"Life Aquatic" comes out Dec. 25, so I'll be back from Europe in time to catch one of the first shows... although, the first time I saw Royal Tenenbaums, Anderson's last movie, I was kind of disappointed. I'm not sure why. Then the second time I was entralled, and it's still one of my favorites. Go figure.
