lost votes

I'm surprised there wasn't more trouble with sorting out votes in Tuesday's election. Some problems are surfacing, though. Wired reports on lost e-votes because a voting machine manufacturer gave poll volunteers the wrong information about how the machines worked.
Local officials said UniLect, the maker of the county's electronic voting system, told them that each storage unit could handle 10,500 votes, but the limit was actually 3,005 votes.

Whether, added up, these kinds of problems could have changed outcomes, we'll have to wait a bit to see.
