If some academic writing seems opaque, maybe it's not just you. Three MIT students wrote a paper using a computer to randomly string words together in a seemingly coherent way, and got it accepted for delivery at a computer conference. Apparently the people choosing the papers don't know what they're reading either.

It's not clear yet whether the students will get to read their random paper to an audience of dumbfounded scientists.
