open door into biker, win prize

To make car drivers more aware of city bikers, Toronto has a new sarcastic "Door Prize" campaign, detailing the fine and other prizes they'll get for failing to check their mirrors and then opening their door into a bike.

This happened to me once in college, on campus, and I almost made it around the car. Back then I wore big raver pants, and the bottom corner of the car door caught my pant leg and pulled me off my bike. Luckily it just rolled me onto the ground and I wasn't hurt much. My friend happened to be walking by then, but they didn't see me fall. He just came up and said, "Why are you lying in the middle of the road?"
