They report the incident in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ). A 45 male was so deaf he couldn't hear his newborn son cry, much to his wife's chagrin, and their marriage's detriment. Everyone agreed that his ear had to be cleared of the "bilaterally impacted cement-like ear cerumen" asap. That's doctor-speak for one narsty hardassed chunk of earwax.
