Rocking my iPod of late
Flicks: Yay or Nay
- Yay!!!: Das Experiment: this depressing but moving film holds lessons for recent prison abuses in Iraq (read my post on this)
- Yay: In the Mood for Love: tender and moving, but it didn't blow me away, like it did a couple of my movie buff friends
- Yay: 2046: the sequel of sorts to "In the Mood...," I liked this one better; edgier and with an existential sci fi story embedded in it.
- YAY!!!: Me and You and Everyone We Know: read my review here
- boingboing: David Pescovitz is co-editor of this directory of wonderful things.
- inky circus: Anna Gosline, Anne Casselman, and Katie Law are the triumfemate behind this science-and-culture blog
- Slashmark: Mark Husson is an unrepentant Star Wars fan.
- Yingpow: Catherine Meng is a poet, music connoisseur, wandering worker.
- Allmusic: helpful bios & discographies, and more authoritative and comprehensive than Amazon
- Discogs: same kind of thing as Allmusic; started with electronic music, but now branching out to rap & indie rock
- Freedb: an independent archive of CD album info
- NewsGator: an online news aggregator that helps you pluck the diamonds from the manure, at home or on the road
- Powell's Books: the best used bookstore in the world. (disclaimer: I used to work here, "The City of Books")
