sinister cancer

Sometimes things you would never suspect to be correlated in fact are. A new study shows a link between left-handedness and breast cancer, so that lefties are twice as likely as normal people (i.e., righties) to get breast cancer. I just started mousing with my left hand, and for a second I was worried this might increase my own chance of breast cancer. (Guys get it too, you know.) But luckily for me, the scientists believe that left-handedness and cancer risk might both be caused by exposure to chemicals while in the womb.

See Nature's news story on this.
